Camp Xtreme Grand Opening

DSC00356I found myself standing again inside the Camp Xtreme Skateboard/BMX Park. Another contest that made me wonder when’s the next contest after this? Next week? It seems that Contest this days are popping up every week, most are good, some are worse.

Depending on the street course and the prizes that they are offering. Well this time they included a Mountain Bike track on the back lot, so lots of skaters, BMXers, Mountain bikers, Fanatics, Organizers etc are jam packed inside the said shindig. There’s a big TV on the canteen showing some BMX video, and guess who are watching?

Lots of skaters complaining they should put on some skateboard video. The green Bowl was not that attracting anymore, due to the fact that the top layer of the cement were already chipping. I did’nt saw that many skaters riding it like the first time I was there. We’ll maybe because  Filipino skaters don’t really feel up to it. The contest did’nt start until about 4pm so there’s more time to chill & check some Hootie Mammas!

I got interviewed by a girl named Ricci for a sport show called Double Team, and that they covered the whole event. The park had some major changes cause they put the street course on this kinda like demolished room. So far this is the smallest street course I’ve ever seen, cause the 2 big funboxes were put together in the middle of it. Banks were everywhere & 1 flat rail made up the street course.

Now I need to get the job done, you see it’s really hard to find some nice comfortable spot to stand on when a contest is happening on a smallish venue. Let alone get a nice angle for some good o’l footage. Did’nt I mention that I’m also a video guy. So I’m must be important;..Yeah Right!

The organizers kindly ask the competitors to put on a Helmet. If they don’t have one they are fitted with this Barbarian like Helmet. Nice Horns guys! So many kids this days are progressing up so fast, tricks like crooked grinds, front boards, kickflips became mandatory. i’m sorry that I can’t name this new kids that did well in this contest not because that I’m an OG or something, but because lots of this new Breed lived in different areas who knows where. In Class A  Iko Jonco, Roger Ordas, Jun Ramos are the people you have to look for.

Roger did some kick ass Nose grinds, Smiths, Crooks, & that 180 Nose grind to forward. Jun did some Frontside Boardslides in his Qualifying & Final runs and Iko the pierce competitor at this time did some feeble grinds, front boards, kickflip 50-50(in practice) and that kickflip to front board in his final  run that made me think, who would do such a thing in a contest? Yeah Iko won and every contest he won I still got no “balato”. Punk bands started playing once more after the awards were given and so its time for me to packed up…wait BSU Malolos contest next  week?…Yeah Right!
